Requisition Number: 187025BR Position Type: Full Time JOB OVERVIEW: Hands-on engineer with a customer-service focus and a willingness to work as part of a high level and professional team JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: • Troubleshoot and repair television studio and field equipment • Provide operational support for IT networks, automation systems, workstations and users • Support and troubleshoot PC/MAC hardware & software • Maintain RF, satellite and fiber transport equipment • Install video/audio equipment and PC workstations • Install, troubleshoot and maintain ENG/DSNG microwave and satellite systems • Light general facilities maintenance • Perform other duties as assigned MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • AS Degree in electronics or industrial electronics with five years of experience in the installation and maintenance of analog and digital television systems preferred KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES: • Technical background with PC’s, MAC, software and networking • A strong technical background in ENG/DSNG trucks, microwave systems, satellite systems, fiber networks and studio automation a must • Previous experience with 24 hr television news a plus • Time Management: ability to organize and manage multiple priorities • Interpersonal: ability to interface with internal company and division personnel at various levels and outside equipment vendors and suppliers • Communication: strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate solutions; and able to relate well with diverse populations and age groups • Attitude: requires adaptability, enthusiasm, initiative and a positive approach to problem solving. Must enjoy working with people and assisting staff with technical support issues • Must obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license for authorized driving in the State of Florida • Must adhere to schedule guidelines • Must be able and willing to work different shifts and be flexible with schedule changes WORKING CONDITIONS: • Inside and outside throughout the year. May be subjected to various weather conditions, which could include extreme hot and cold • Requires travel to remote locations including news bureaus, microwave receive sites, sports venues, fiber hub sites, cable headends and other locations • Can require long periods of personal computer use and phone communications. • Communicates in person, by phone and by email • Must be able to work under time pressure deadlines and willing and able to work different shifts or longer shifts due to "breaking news" and severe weather emergencies.
