Producer (Regular, Full-Time) WJBK’s News department is seeking an individual for an immediate opportunity as a Producer. The ideal candidate must possess versatility to successfully execute a variety of producing functions in the evolving modern newsroom. These include, identifying and producing accurate, interesting and compelling stories and shows on multiple platforms while meeting deadlines. Candidate must be able to build graphics, edit video and post stories to our Website and social media. Must be able to perform as a digital journalist capable of producing and fronting an on-line news show that mixes breaking news, preloaded video clips, graphics and continual interaction with viewers/commenters. Candidate must demonstrate strong news judgment, problem-solving skills and commitment to journalistic principles. We require a command of social media involvement with viewers and users, and the ability to quickly learn new production skills. A geographical and historical knowledge of Metro Detroit is a strong plus. The candidate needs to be available to work weekdays and weekends. Candidate must be a good communicator who supports and collaborates with co-workers in a team environment. Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience required, as well as, demonstrated knowledge of television and digital production techniques and newsroom computer systems. Proven production experience in a medium to major market is a strong plus. Job Code: 066 |
