Category: Engineering Position/Title: Systems Engineer Details: The Systems Engineer installs, supports, and maintains all mechanical and electronic equipment within the broadcast environment. This equipment includes video production and master control switchers, video routers, video servers, studio and ENG cameras, video monitors, audio equipment, microwave transmitters and receivers, live news trucks, intercom and IFB systems, graphics equipment, computers, and other electronic equipment generally associated with a broadcast television station. 80% The Systems Engineer installs, supports, and maintains all mechanical and electronic equipment and software systems within the broadcast environment. This equipment includes video production and master control switchers, video routers, video servers, studio and ENG cameras, video monitors, audio equipment, microwave transmitters and receivers, live news trucks, intercom and IFB systems, graphics equipment, computers, and other electronic equipment generally associated with a broadcast television station. Repairs are made to component or board level as appropriate. 10% Cross-Trains other members of the technical staff and improves/updates technical job skills 10% Performs other duties as assigned. Vacancy Type: Full Time Date Posted: 3/30/2017 Closing Date: 4/30/2017 City: Nashville - 37209 State: Tennessee Experience: Associate’s degree in Broadcast Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent training and/or experience. Five years’ experience maintaining technical equipment in a television broadcast or post-production facility preferred. Must possess mid-level experience and knowledge of computers, servers, data infrastructure including Ethernet and fiber in support of IP and communications protocols, and computer operating systems. (Windows 7, Linux, etc.) Requirements: Good interpersonal skills – ability to effectively and cooperatively work with non-technical personnel. Ability to prioritize and make frequent changes to work plans without loss of efficiency or composure. Ability to make decisions quickly under pressure. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. Ability to meet deadlines. Ability to work a flexible schedule in support of a 24x7x365 broadcast operation.
