Job ID:2116 Position Type:Full-Time/Regular Job Description WDSU, the Hearst Television, NBC television affiliate in New Orleans is in search of an experienced and dynamic leader to be the next Director of Sales. The successful candidate will lead and manage all national, local and digital sales efforts for the station and its related digital platforms including WDSU.com, WDSU Mobile and MeTV New Orleans. The ideal candidate must demonstrate a keen ability to price inventory, sell sports and specials, transact political ad sales, forecast business activity and develop new business revenue across all platforms. Experience in the interpretation of Nielsen audience research, digital audience measurement of the internet and mobile analytics is essential. Familiarity with Wide Orbit, comScore, Google Analytics and Eckstein Summers Armbruster is preferred. A minimum of five years of sales management experience is preferred. Job Responsibilities: Manage and guide an experienced sales team to achieve station goals on all platforms. Develop, implement, and communicate sales strategies and action plans. Manage stations inventory and rates. Meet with clients and advertisers to maintain high visibility in the community. Create and manage non-traditional revenue and new business projects. Interface with station's national rep firm to set goals and objectives. Work with the promotion department to create sales opportunities Work with General Manager and other department managers to accomplish station objectives. Required Skills Candidates must possess strong leadership, motivational and sales skills with a proven track record of success. Must have the ability to price, forecast, and budget and execute a clear plan and vision. Creative selling abilities a must! Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel Education: College degree or equivalent work experience Required Experience Five years broadcast sales management experience preferred Must have a proven track record of success in transactional, new business, digital and multi-platforms sales
