2017-6841 – Maintenance/IT Engineer KFVS has an opening for a Maintenance/IT engineer. The Maintenance/IT Engineer operates, maintains, updates, and repairs hardware, facilities and systems in a television broadcast/digital environment. Duties include installing, repairing and maintaining broadcast systems, computer hardware/software, and troubleshooting LAN and network issues as well as repairing and maintaining of RF equipment. Basic electrical and/or plumbing skills are a plus. This position requires excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills and a positive and strong work ethic. Applicants for this position must be capable of moving large/heavy broadcast equipment and working various shifts. The successful candidate must pass a drug screen and possess a clean driving record. High school diploma or GED is required. Electronics training certification by a trade school, technical college or military education preferred. Preference will also be given to experience, academic/technical accreditation and FCC SBE certification. Summary of essential job functions - Maintain television and digital production technology, facilities and equipment for the company. Assist in maintenance of the IT network, switches, work stations, laptops and printers. Perform routine equipment/facility maintenance. Assist with system integration and modification of TV/IT systems, and communicate with other departments to contribute to the resolution of equipment and system performance issues. Maintain company servers and computer equipment. Work with corporate IT as needed to maintain performance. Assist in monitoring of facility’s environmental and security systems. Minimum requirements and abilities - Technical degree in Digital Electronics, Broadcasting, Information Technology or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience. Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills, must be self-motivated. Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment. Strong PC/MS Office experience. Experience with video cameras, A/V routing and patching, audio equipment, graphics systems, editing systems. Physical Demands and Work Environment - The Maintenance/IT Engineer must be able to stand, sit, reach, climb, lift, set up, and operate equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, climb ladders and stairs, and control or feel objects, tools or controls. |
