REQUISITION ID: req1637 JOB DESCRIPTION Position Summary Univision is seeking a talented Assistant Director to support the Director, along with coordinating all production activities. The Assistant Director will provide a key link between the Director, Producers, Technical Director and Production team. Job Responsibilities Oversee and facilitate production elements, including graphics, music, and all other related show elements at the Director’s request Assist Director of the show with upcoming traffic Assist Technical Director with pre and post production of the show Back time video clips and packages QC videos & GFX’s with TRT for all respective shows Use iNEWS (Newsroom Computer System) to edit the rundown Distribute rundowns to technical staff Ensure break formats and logs are cross checked with show Call cues for GFX and server playbacks Communicate with NOC MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Required Skills & Experience Knowledge of all aspects of timing of the show Knowledge of equipment utilized in production, TV studio, and control room Proficient using iNews integrated GFX systems Ability to multitask and prioritize Perform well under pressure and live event situations Ability to train new employees and co-workers Work effectively with others in a team environment Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing Excellent organizational and planning skills Flexible schedule Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) preferred As this position supports 24x7 operation, candidate must, in addition to being able to work regular hours, have on-call availability, and flexibility to work days, nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays as needed and without advance notice. Additionally, candidate may be required to work on site for extended periods of time to provide coverage in special circumstances, such as, during tropical storm/hurricane. Desired Skills & Experience Bachelor degree: Communications, Television Production or related preferred. Strong knowledge and understanding of broadcast and production technology. Studio and remote production experience, including Technical Director on production switcher (Grass Valley, Sony, Ross Video, etc.). Ability to multi-task and react quickly during daily broadcasts. Interpersonal and professional communication skills. Advanced computer skills and familiarity with Windows operating systems.
