Details: Channel 5 has an immediate opening for an Anchor/Reporter who will embrace KSDK’s standard of news reporting, storytelling and investigative excellence while boldly advancing the 5 OYS brand across multiple platforms. Anchor/Reporters have a passion for people, are community-oriented and understand they make a difference every single day. They are team players, newsroom leaders, willing to do whatever it takes to get the latest and best story, and impactful information disseminated to our community. Responsibilities: Gather and investigate story ideas with the goal of developing engaging, innovative, and original content for television, mobile and social media platforms Use social listening tools and independent sources to identify consumer driven content Write, shoot, edit and post daily stories on ksdk.com, mobile and social media platforms including attaching images and streaming video Anchor newscasts and fill-in as needed Use editorial judgement to help determine content of newscasts Work with Producer and co-Anchors to produce unique, fast-paced newscasts. Write in an exciting, captivating and authentic manner. Use creative production techniques such as graphics and new forms of media (viewer pictures, webcam interviews, etc.) to enhance newscasts and stories Become familiar with the latest editing and photography tools to tell great stories Present on-air news events in a concise, accurate and engaging manner Interview news subjects and research for facts and credibility Develop news sources for general assignment and special areas of interest Participate in community outreach events on behalf of the station Perform other tasks as required by News Director or News Content Manager We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and value the benefits of diversity in our workplace.
