TV Technician – Temporary Employment Bargaining Unit position WVIZ/PBS ideastream has need for an experienced Master Control Operators/Technician who is responsible for assuring programming is broadcast on schedule and in accordance with quality standards. The technician also performs all tape room functions. Duties include: o Program/monitor automation systems for a multi-channel television operation: assure all programs are cued and broadcast on time o Assure all programs are available to the automation systems on a timely basis o Monitor EAS and perform EAS procedures in accordance with FCC regulations; run weather or special crawls as required. Monitor on air signal at all times; correct problems or seek technical assistance o Read electronic scopes and adjust signal as required o Monitor and operate transmitter functions; take corrective action as needed o Adjust satellite receivers o Adjust break elements o Notify Traffic of problems with tapes… o Operate “Video Tape” position on studio productions, perform machine to machine editing. Perform dubbing, duplicating functions. o Operate equipment manually as necessary. Qualifications: Knowledge of basic electronics a must. Demonstrated ability to operated video/audio equipment. Knowledge of FCC rules and experience in broadcast operations very helpful. Must be computer literate in windows applications. Demonstrated ability to work without close supervision and react quickly and accurately in a fast paced “live” environment. Must demonstrate ability to consistently work well with others.
