job posting:

Job Title: Morning Anchor/Reporter Schedule: To be determined Description of Duties: How many postings did you read today? What’s guiding your decision? What kind of anchor do you want to be? What kind of show do you want to help lead? How many questions in a row would you like to read? Ok, I’ll get to the point: more and more of the best anchors in the business are choosing mornings. More shows, more interaction, more opportunity to be yourself and help viewers get the information they need to start their day. Right now at Cleveland19 we have an opportunity for an anchor to help lead and grow a show we believe is going to be very special. We need leaders, not readers. Our brand is Getting Answers, and you’ll be an important part of that. We want anchors who enhance everything they touch with knowledge, authenticity, compassion, and personality. People who don’t just provide news, but put it in context. Someone who can share themselves on-air and online. Someone who loves social media as much as they love mornings. We need journalists who create original content and add to the content others have created. Like a good point guard, they make everyone around them look better. They elevate the team. Speaking of teams, we’ve got some great ones in this town. Did we mention we’re in the hottest city in America right now? Just ask Forbes magazine. We’ve got a booming downtown, a fantastic food scene, spectacular Playhouse Square, a beautiful lake, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the Roller Coaster Capital of the World in Cedar Point, the AL Champion Indians, the NBA Eastern Conference Champion Cavaliers and a football team that is ready to turn the corner in the Browns (really…it’s going to happen this time.) This is a great place to live! If you’re ready to be part of a major undertaking and ready to put your heart and soul into a morning show while spending your free time in one of the best places in America to live, we’re excited to see what you can do. Looking forward to hearing from you! Education/Skills Required • College degree. • Minimum three years’ experience as an anchor/reporter at a commercial station in medium to large market. • Knowledge of NE Ohio a plus. • Strong writing skills. • Experience with newsroom computer systems, ENPS preferred. • Strong story-telling skills and digital profile. • Valid driver license.
