Job Title: Morning Executive Producer Schedule: To Be Determined Would you like to take the reins of a morning show that’s been #1 since the day it went on the air, follow the formula and help keep it there? Ok, stop reading. The rest of you keep going… Cleveland19 is looking for someone with a new vision to take over our morning show. We need a builder, not a caretaker. We’re looking for a leader to help us build mornings from the ground up. We’re looking to grow our morning show into a contender within the market. Here’s the good news: we’ve got a nucleus of good people who want to win. We are looking for your clear vision of the show – both on-air and online. We want an experienced producer who loves the morning shift and morning television. Someone who realizes the growing importance of morning shows in viewers’ lives. A great planner who’s willing to blow up the rundown when the news dictates. A coach who integrates news, traffic and weather into a seamless package that gives viewers what they need to do start their day. Our brand is Getting Answers, and answers are exactly what viewers need when they wake up in the morning. Can you make sure they get the right ones? You’ll have a broad canvas to paint on – our show begins at 4:30 on WOIO and doesn’t finish until 8am on WUAB. With success, the sky’s the limit on that front. Did we mention we’re in the hottest city in America right now? Just ask Forbes magazine. We’ve got a booming downtown, a fantastic food scene, spectacular Playhouse Square, a beautiful lake, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the Roller Coaster Capital of the World in Cedar Point, the AL Champion Indians, the NBA Eastern Conference Champion Cavaliers and a football team that is ready to turn the corner in the Browns (really…it’s going to happen this time.) This is a great place to live! We’re growing a winner here at Cleveland19. Ratings are growing everywhere in our news day. Now it’s time for the morning show to make the move to the next level. You’ll have the staffing you are looking for and supportive managers. And I promise, if you ever lose money in a vending machine, I’ll be here to get it back for you. Still reading? I’m guessing you are interested. Please send me the normal stuff, but please send me some words on why you think you are right for the job. Why you can take us where we want to go. Why you. I look forward to hearing from you. Education/Skills Required • College degree. • Minimum five years producing/executive producing at a commercial station in medium to large market, preferably Nielsen-metered. • Experience with newsroom computer systems, ENPS preferred. • Strong writing skills for broadcast, digital and social platforms. • Understanding of contemporary digital and broadcast marketing and research.
