WKYT is looking for a multimedia reporter to cover spot news overnight and report on-air during its morning newscasts. We’re looking for a pioneer in the next generation of news gathering. We report news on every platform available to our viewers. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated ability to report, shoot video, edit video, post web stories/pictures/video from both the field and television station. Successful candidates will also have the ability to deliver compelling stories. You’ll use the latest technology, including lightweight next generation video equipment and laptop editing.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Live reporting
• Creative shooting
• Writing, editing and posting of news stories: hard news and features
• Must have good writing skills
• Work well under strict deadline pressure
• Overnight position
• At least two years experience as a reporter or photojournalist for a broadcast news station or news website
• Bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism or a related field
• Knowledge of and ability to operate state-of-the-art television news equipment as well as website publishing
