WKYT in beautiful Lexington, Kentucky is looking for a part-time sports photographer/digital content producer. In this unique role, the person selected will work directly with sports and news.
Successful candidates will have a demonstrated ability to shoot sports video, gather information, and edit video for our newscasts. You’ll use the latest technology, including lightweight next generation video equipment and desktop editing to cover various sporting events. These responsibilities will primarily be Friday evenings and on Saturdays.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Candidate will also write and adapt broadcast news content for WKYT’s digital platforms and create engaging content on Facebook, Twitter and other social media platforms that draw viewers to the web and television
• Participate in the creative development and technical implementation of online content for the website
These responsibilities will primarily be Monday and Tuesday mornings
• The successful applicant’s background must include, at minimum, a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism or a related field.
• We’re looking for a self-starter, with knowledge of all aspects of a successful television operation and strong community partner
