Job Title: Reporter/ Anchor - AM Schedule: To be determined WOIO-AM Reporter/Anchor We need the queen or king of urgency for our re-vamped morning show. When news breaks, you’ll fix it from our Alert Center. Your job will be to monitor all our news sources all morning, find the video, get it cut (or cut it yourself), write the copy and put it in context for our viewers. You’ll work with our desk and digital team to serve our audience who’s away from a TV screen via push alerts, social media and our app. You’ll need to be authentic, engaged and energetic on all platforms. It’s news without borders. You’ll need to make the London bombing as relevant as the store fire up the street. They’ll both need maps and a clear-and-understandable explanation of what we know, and don’t know, and what’s changed in the last 15 minutes. Find the nugget that makes it memorable, and give viewers a reason to tune in tomorrow. Our brand is “Getting Answers,” you’ll be a centerpiece. “I don’t know how, but (insert your name here) just makes it better,” the viewer said. Our newly-built morning show is coming off the assembly line as we speak, so you’ll have a chance to pick some options, and adjust the seat and mirrors the way you’d like. Like legroom? Stretch out. It’s a 3 ½ hours over two stations. You’ll be joining a talented core of people who want to win, along with some new additions who will help us get to the next level. They love morning TV, the daypart that generates the most viewer loyalty, and the most on-air creativity in the biz. Speaking of teams, we’ve got some great ones in this town. Did we mention we’re in the hottest city in America right now? Just ask Forbes magazine. We’ve got a booming downtown, a fantastic food scene, spectacular Playhouse Square, a beautiful lake, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the Roller Coaster Capital of the World in Cedar Point, the AL Champion Indians, the NBA Eastern Conference Champion Cavaliers and a football team that is ready to turn the corner in the Browns (really…it’s going to happen this time.) This is a great place to live! If you’re ready to be part of a major undertaking and ready to put your heart and soul into a morning show while spending your free time in one of the best places in America to live, we’re excited to see what you can do. Looking forward to hearing from you!
