Category: Production Position/Title: Technical Producer Details: The Technical Producer will be responsible for designing and directing the look and feel of newscasts and local programming for WSMV-TV. The Technical Producer will work hand-in-hand with WSMV Content Producers to create daily news and programming utilizing Grass Valley Ignite, VIZ-RT, and other related systems and additional duties as assigned. The Technical Producer must have a working knowledge of the operation of a broadcast television station. Experience directing live television news is required. Technical Producer must possess strong communication and problem solving skills as well as be flexible, willing to adapt, and solution oriented in a climate of constant change. 50% Mastery of Grass Valley Ignite System and VIZ-RT Trio Operations. 25% Meet daily with Content Producers to dissect newscast or other show in detail. 25% Work closely with Sr. Production Supervisor and team to manage “look” of newscasts and local programs. College degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field is strongly preferred. Experience: Experience in broadcast television and At least 2 – 3 years’ experience directing live newscasts. Requirements: Successful Technical Producer must understand all facets of television production including but not limited to Automated Control Room Systems (especially Grass Valley Ignite), VizRT, Avid Capture, iNews, Corio, K2 and Robotic Camera Systems. Experience with Jib camera is also a plus. Possess strong communication and problem solving skill. Positive attitude and teamwork is a must.
