Produce and distribute content elements across several media platforms for krqe.com. Though the job is primarily publishing written news stories online, it also includes digitally marketing content through social media, apps, and other technologies. Multimedia news producing requires someone who can quickly multi-task under pressure while remaining composed, professional and think critically. The candidate must be able to learn new applications and systems, and be comfortable in a digital environment while asserting solid news judgment. The schedule calls for weekdays, weekends and cover for vacations and sick days. The job would guarantee up to 25 per week with additional hours as needed. Specialized Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: · Knowledge and understanding of various media platforms. · Basic understanding and demonstration of multi-media file formats and strong computer skills. · Understand importance of social media. · Excellent reading, writing, spelling, grammar and organizational skills. Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Communication/Journalism or related degree required. Two years minimum experience in news-gathering and/or production. Experience writing, producing and editing content on a desktop editing system. Training/Equipment: Operate computers with desktop editing system. Work Environment/Mental/Physical Requirements: High stress office environment with deadline pressures.
