Montgomery College, Rockville Campus, has need for a full-time, Broadcast Engineer, S05221, for MCTV - Montgomery College Television, local cable channel 10 and Comcast HD 998. The normal work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm and occasional planned evening and weekend productions, plus occasional unplanned call-back for emergency off-the-air situations. Job Summary: This position is responsible for supporting video and digital media production services provided by the award-winning Montgomery College Television (MCTV) professional staff, and students, through quality broadcasting and other services. Required Qualifications: • Associate’s degree in communications electronics technology or IT systems engineering, or a related field. • Five years of recent (within the last ten years) relevant experience and/or any combination of education, training and experience providing understanding of the field and the ability to perform the duties of the job. • Valid driver’s license required and evidence of good driving record. • Comptia A+ certification in troubleshooting computers required, or three years of equivalent experience and training. • Comptia Network+ certification, or three years of equivalent experience and training in troubleshooting complex network integration between SAN, LAN interfacing with College’s network infrastructure. • Basic video technology experience required for installations, routing configurations, and component repair. Preferred Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in communications electronics technology or IT systems engineering, or a related field. • Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE) certification. • Familiarity with Harmonic Media Center/Polaris System. • Familiarity with ProTrack Broadcast Management System.
