You can grow your leadership and your career at Scripps. The Operations Manager will oversee the daily scheduling of technician/employees and the staffing of special events programming. Oversee facilities scheduling of studios, control rooms and production edit rooms. Responsible for operation of master control, air operations, satellite services and duplication. Key Activities Lead the team that oversees the station production resources. Work with Operations Office Manager and staff Supervisors in handling station daily operational activities. Collaborate with leadership and coordinate resources to support all departments. Work with News and Promotions to provide editing, control rooms, studios, and remote crews to effectively support all platforms including digital web, mobile, and social channels; facilitate any special needs. Work with Programming to provide production support for station events and initiatives. Work with Sales to provide remote crews and editing for client commercial productions. Manage production labor expenses and supply costs. Oversee budgets for studio engineering, directing staff, staging and lighting costs. Approves payroll and oversees vacation and holiday assignments. Prepare billing for production services. Maintain good personnel relations, motivating and developing staff to meet current and future operational needs of the station. Company contact for Union officials. Coordinate activities of the negotiating team for collective bargaining agreements with the DGA, IBEW and I.A.T.S.E. Work with Director of Engineering to develop methods and uses for current technologies. Work with Building Manager to maintain a safe and secure workplace. Perform other duties as needed and directed by the General Manager. Education & Experience/Certifications Bachelor's degree preferred-- TV Production/Communication Studies 8+ years experience Skills & Abilities Positive attitude and good communication skills Up-to-date understanding of technical equipment at the station & production processes. Good people skills and patience. On-call 24-7 and available. About Us The E.W.
