8 News Now, KLAS, CBS Las Vegas has an immediate opening for a talented Photojournalist / Editor to join our staff. We're looking for a team player that is able to tell a great story with video and editing in a fast paced news environment. Shooting and editing in the newsroom as well as in our microwave and satellite trucks will be required. Live truck experience is a necessity. HD experience necessary. Qualified candidates should have a minimum of 4 years experience in a small to mid-size market. A desire to learn on the latest, state of the art non-linear edit equipment a must. A valid driver's license with a clean record is mandatory. Knowledge of journalistic standards and ethics, and the ability to work well and communicate with others are a necessity. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Shoots video for news reports. Confers with other personnel to discuss assignments, logistics and shot requirements. Sets up, composes and executes video shots. Maintains video equipment. Edits video clips for television broadcasts and eMedia content. Operates live microwave and satellite trucks in remote situations.
