Univision is looking to recruit top talent for our Internship program to join our mission of informing, entertaining, and empowering U.S. Hispanic consumers. The ideal candidate is at the top of their class, is a self-starter, and is eager to learn in a team environment. Our internship program strives to grow our interns’ knowledge of the media industry and expand their networking opportunities. FALL PROGRAM DETAILS Starts: Monday, October 09 Ends: Friday, December 15 • Runs 10 weeks; maximum of 28 hours/per week • Projects designed to build knowledge, skills, and experience in the Media Industry • Exposure to various business leaders and company initiatives • Deadline to apply is October 2nd Summary of responsibilities • Provide a summary of project(s) the intern will complete, including major assignment, tasks, and expected team interaction. • The intern will learn and execute production tasks for our News programs content. • These responsibilities includes tasks in the control room and Newsroom. • The intern will interact directly with the producers, photographers, Technical directors and on air talent. • Core Project: Learn technical and production elements for our “Edicion Digital” show. This project includes graphics, audio and other production needs for this live show. • Competencies you will develop with us: At the end of the internship will learn the Control Room technical protocol and will have the ability to work with TV tight deadlines and juggle multiple projects. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS BASIC QUALIFICATIONS • Punctual, consistent attendance • Motivated and positive attitude • Possible majors can include: Journalism, Communications, Broadcast, • Social media experience (Facebook, Online Media, Twitter, YouTube, Blogger, etc.) • Excited to learn video production or broadcast environment • The intern must have the ability to work non-traditional work schedules including early shifts, weekends • Technical skills: Word, PowerPoint, Excel. Basic Knowledge of an editing system preferred (Adobe, Final cut, IMovie, AVID) • Detail oriented while doing work, advanced communication skills. • Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above • Must be 18 years of age or older • Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S • Must be in their Junior or Senior year of undergraduate degree • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Prior work/internship experience in a corporate environment • Proficiency with Word/Excel/ PowerPoint • Demonstrate leadership and adaptability • Demonstrate civic and community service Eligibility Regular full-time and part-time employees may apply for a posted job provided that (1) they meet the experience and qualifications of the position, as specified in the job posting; (2) they have been in their present position at least twelve months; (3) they have a satisfactory performance record; and (4) they discuss their interest in a posted position with their current supervisor or manager.
