Company: CBS Radio Title: Sales Associate Details: This is a one year assignment designed to groom the candidate for a full-time position as an Account Executive upon successful completion of the program. The Sales Associate will work with Senior Account Executives and Sales Managers of CBS Radio and learn all facets of the radio sales process including development and maintenance of accounts on CBS Radio’s broadcast and interactive properties as well as sales and execution of related events and promotions as an extension of the network. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE SALES ASSOCIATE include the following. These assignments and responsibilities will exist in conjunction with direction and training from Senior AE’s and Sales Managers. *Prospecting for potential clients. *Cold calling in the form of on-site calls in geographical areas as well as learning basic cold calling via phone. *Learning the process of customer focused selling and conducting customer needs analyzes. *Developing proposals and multi-layer presentati!ons. *Acquiring presentation and closing skills including overcoming objections *Copywriting as it applies *Conducting research using industry-related software *Becoming proficient with industry terms, jargons and tools *Learning the basic foundations of CBS Radio’s digital assets investigating and resolving customer concerns and issues. *Communicating with other departments to assure quality service *Gaining organizational skills and time management *Understanding the tenets of client service and what it takes to excel in today’s sales environment. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to: Attend sales meetings, training sessions, and station events/remotes as they arise. *Perform all other takes assigned and/or required that contribute to the smooth running of the sale and to the achievement of goals. *Bring a positive attitude to the work place and make an impact each day. Strong communication and presentation skills needed. Ability to multi task with good problem solving skills and creativity. Great organizational skills required.
