Category: News Position/Title: Newscast Editor Details: The WSMV newscast editor is responsible for ownership of all video elements of a newscast, including editing, accuracy, and audio/video quality. Must be proficient in non-linear editing and newscast edit standards. Strong knowledge of fairness and libel issues required. The editor is also required to tune ENG/SNG feeds and ingest material from the field. The editor is responsible for the correct and timely airing of all stories, teases, opens and production elements of a given newscast. The editor is also responsible for delivering video to other platforms, including web, mobile, and social media. Must be able to function in a high-intensity deadline environment and be willing to work long or unusual hours as news events warrant. Gathers, packages and brokers information about a news topic to the general public. The work performed is for all media platforms and initiatives, including on-air, website, app and social media.
