Five On Your Side (5 OYS) is looking for an experienced and creative visionary to lead our growing morning show in St. Louis to the next level. You are the conductor of a morning news, 3-screen experience providing thoughtful coverage of breaking news and relevant enterprise stories, delivered by a team that is warm, authentic and energetic. You will work closely with the Assistant News Director to develop and execute strategy for today, tomorrow, next week and beyond. You will also work closely with the show producers and field crews to make sure we have the best segments, live shots, story showcasing and user-generated content in the market. The Senior Executive Producer will embrace KSDK’s standard of news reporting and storytelling, while boldly advancing the 5 OYS brand across multiple platforms. This person will also work collaboratively with other newsroom leaders, the digital team, and the marketing team to create and promote unique and shareable content for broadcast, digital and social. Our ideal candidate must be a skilled content producer with proven experience developing show strategy and coaching a team to consistently execute it. Requirements: Lead teams in the creation of unique newscasts and digital segments evoking emotion Write, shoot and edit news stories for on-air broadcast and digital platforms Use the latest editing and photography tools to tell great stories Write and teach staff to write in an exciting, captivating and authentic manner Teach staff to develop content through social listening and independent sources Teach staff how to research for facts and credibility Skillfully use social media and digital tools to research, discover and distribute content Use consumer analytics in determining content Write and post daily on all digital platforms including social media Coach journalists how to write for website including attaching images and streaming video Use creative production techniques such as graphics and new forms of media (viewer pictures, webcam interviews, Tagboard, etc.) to enhance stories Enterprise news stories Lead and inspire news teams to work together for a great newscast Coach and inspire on air talent to be exciting and engaging Perform other tasks as required by News Director We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and value the benefits of diversity in our workplace. Vacancy Type: Experience: 3 Year(s) Requirements: BA/BS in journalism, communications or related 3-5 years of experience supervising and leading other journalists Bilingual (English & Spanish) speaking desirable Experience with photojournalism, editing, and content management systems Previous experience line producing a newscast required Mastery of technical aspects of live control room environment required Previous experience with automated control room systems a plus Knowledge of ENPS, Edius and Axis graphics a plus Strong social media skills, including an active news hound presence on Twitter and Facebook Organizational skills and the ability to work under constant time sensitive deadlines Experience calmly handling live, breaking news situations and changing events
