Position:Digital Producer Req. Number:1575 Department/Division:Corporate Audience Development – G&A Description: Are you: A digital storyteller looking for a new, exciting creative outlet? Are you known for your powerful and unusual style of production? If you have a proven track record of producing digital content that people are compelled to talk about, read on. CBC Audience Development is an innovation lab seeking a hands-on digital producer to produce WRAL.com Originals and create new forms of storytelling for our flagship digital properties including: WRAL.com, the WRAL News app, social media, OTT channels and other Capitol Broadcasting Company divisions and initiatives as assigned. We’re looking for an inventive producer with ideas and the production chops to execute them. You are versatile enough to produce content that meets journalistic standards or straight up fun stuff to watch. Your demo reel showcases an entertaining storyteller using a mix of visual elements – stunning video (GoPro, drone, 360 will set you apart), compelling audio, photography, text treatment and animation, explainer videos using graphics you created. You can quickly generate and execute ideas and you know how to produce trailers for social consumption. Your work must resonate for desktop, mobile and social audiences. You’ll create standalone stories, digital series, and longer form programming. If you’re really good, you also have standout audio storytelling skills and have produced podcasts. The ideal candidate has a minimum of three years of professional, hands-on, digital content production with a successful track record of creating compelling, thumb-stopping storytelling. Must have superior technical skills in DSLR videography, non-linear editing, in the field production and problem-solving, deep knowledge of industry-standard software (Adobe Creative Cloud, especially Adobe Premiere). Proficiency with audio storytelling as well as basic text usage, graphic design and animation preferred; expert level highly valued. Should have a love of experimentation, can fly solo and can excel with idea collaboration and creative feedback; demonstrated execution using social media to drive web traffic. Must have a thirst for innovation and ability to move between projects. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, nimble workplace is necessary; experience in TV newsroom culture helpful. College degree, preferably in communications or a related field. A pre-employment drug screening is required.
