AGWEEKTV is accepting applications for an Anchor. This position is 32 hours/week with benefits. Responsibilities: -Anchor for AGWEEKTV and also appear on camera in sponsored content videos. -Contribute to the planning and execution of each weekly show, write and edit copy for AGWEEKTV. -Responsible for gathering and reporting agriculture-related news and features for the multi-media platforms of Forum Communications Co., including but not limited to AGWEEKTV, AGWEEK magazine, and Agweek.com -Prepares weekly for commitments, including AGWEEKTV script, researching sponsored content clients and preparing interview questions -Develop ideas and collaborates to increase sales -Builds rapport and stays attuned to local, regional and state agricultural issues, attends local and regional board meetings, help build awareness of Agweek brand by making paid and unpaid appearances. -Contributes to the website Agweek.com by planning online components for stories, writing online stories and composing additional content; may be responsible for blog content -Receives assignments and develops own ideas into one relevant weekly story/ package -Organizes material determines focus and writes stories according to editorial style and format standards, for multiple platforms. -Responsible for traveling to and attending Ag shows and other related conferences up to 10-15 nights a year. -May need to use video and camera equipment as needed for stories -Other duties as assigned. Requirements: -Bachelor’s degree in journalism, mass communication, agriculture journalism or a related field. -Professional experience on-camera, writing, AP style preferred. -Excellent communication skills, including the ability to listen, interview and take accurate notes and write accurate, clear and concise stories. -Detail oriented strong organizational skills. -Computer skills in word processing and content management systems. -Ability to handle sensitive and emotional situations, maintain confidentiality, balance demands, set priorities and manage multiple issues/projects at a time. -Knowledge of Freedom of Information Act and libel laws. -Know how to use video and camera equipment and edit photos. -Must possess a valid driver’s license and a driving record that is insurable by the company. -Must carry an acceptable level of vehicle insurance as required by the company.
