Job Title Multi Media Journalist Job Description I. Job Summary | Major goals and objectives. The Multi-Media Journalist enterprises and generates daily news stories for live broadcast, station website(s) and all current and future media platforms. Work performed is for all media platforms and initiatives, including for example: on-air, web, digital and social media. In addition, the Multi-Media Journalist: • Shoots and edits news material • Performs engaging stand-ups or live shots as assigned • Drives and operates microwave vehicles • Posts stories on station website(s) II. Essential Job Functions Weight % Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results 45% Gathers information and images in the field for broadcast, station website(s) and all current and future media platforms. Records moving video and takes still pictures. Determines appropriate lighting for all video/picture platforms. Works collaboratively with Multi-Media Photographer-Journalist or alone. Writes exceptional news copy for broadcast, station website(s) and online text. 25% Edits images/video captured for live broadcast, station website(s) and all current and future media platforms. 15% Posts news content including text, video and still images to website(s). 10% Strategically engages in social media. 100% III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field, or equivalent training and/or experience. Experience: Three years television reporter/photojournalist experience. Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to meet deadlines. Ability to carry 40-100 pounds. Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends. Ability to shoot and edit with speed, efficiency and creativity in a newsroom or field environment. Ability to produce high quality news stories across all content platforms. Fluency in Spanish preferred. Must have a valid Arizona Driver’s License and a clean driving record. Non-linear editing experience preferred. % Travel Required (Approximate): Extensive local travel. #LMG#
