Northeast Ohio’s leading weather department is growing again! WKBN’s Storm Team 27 needs an EXPERIENCED weather ace with a meteorology-related degree to cover lake-effect snow, spring thunderstorms and a broad range of conditions in Northeast Ohio.
Our severe weather coverage is second-to-none. We’ve won one of those coveted golden statuettes for our tornado coverage.
We're looking for someone who believes in active weathercasting, generating your own forecast, tracking down to the street level and being first with breaking weather and news. You also need to be passionate about reporting local enterprise stories.
This meteorologist will team up with an established weather personality to forecast and appear on WKBN’s #1 rated morning and Noon newscasts, as well as report and shoot as a Multimedia Journalist.
Our news team produces 8 ½ hours of live news every weekday on 3 network affiliates: WKBN (CBS), WYTV (ABC) & WYFX (FOX) every weekday. We have 2 studios, 2 control rooms and 2 sets of anchor teams.
We equip our newsroom with the resources to cover the big news and weather events: 2 live trucks, live backpacks, laptop editors and a remote production truck.
You'll also get to live in a community with great food, great people and one of the largest city parks in the country. If you like to get outdoors after work, check out Mill Creek Metroparks. Youngstown is also midway between Pittsburgh and Cleveland. You can be at a Browns or Steelers game in an hour. We're neighbors to some of the best wineries in the Great Lakes region.
