The individual will spend all hours in the field monitoring scanners, source tips, social media reports and assignment desk communication. On-camera and behind the camera duties will include live pictures, live scene setters and live/recorded reports. During breaking news events, the MMJ will be responsible for solo live news gathering and live interviews. This person must gather information accurately and quickly while communicating in a thorough, engaging manner. Strong, experienced photography abilities and express editing skills are primary talents required for the position. Live breaking news reports will also demand confident, smooth presentation skills. Embracing and effectively using social media is essential to succeeding in this job. This individual must be a self-starter who cultivates sources, finds new information and approaches on-scene interview opportunities as a regular part of the job. The position needs a competitive journalist who maintains solid news judgment and a stellar sense of live visual storytelling. Proficiency with ENPS, Edius, FTP and live transmission are preferred. Previous experience in television news and a four year college degree are required. A pre-employment drug screening is required. EOE, M/F.
