TV Live Center Anchor/Reporter All candidates must apply online at https://app.jobvite.com/j?aj=oJCl8fwy&s=EMMYOnline WRAL-TV is looking for a seasoned journalist to anchor in our Live Center and to report weekdays. As a Live Center anchor, this individual will continuously work to gather, produce, and present news to viewers during several newscasts. This will include interpreting news events, ad-libbing, and communicating breaking news without scripts. The Live Center will be equipped with numerous tools that will require proficiency and comfort with technology. As a reporter, the individual must generate original, local stories; analyze events, issues and trends; conduct compelling interviews; and creatively produce television reports that communicate the news in a clear, imaginative manner. Embracing and effectively using social media is essential to succeeding in this job. The anchor's on-air role is critical and demands confident, smooth presentation skills. Live skills are vital - especially the ability to ad lib and describe breaking news as it's happening. The individual must be able to deliver succinctly, clearly and effectively. Solid news judgment and a strong sense of visual storytelling are essential skills. This individual must be a self-starter who cultivates sources and finds new information as a regular part of the job. At least five years previous experience in television news and a four year college degree are required. A pre-employment drug screening is required. EOE, M/F.
