Do you love people? Are you great at being the first to greet people with a smile? Cherokee is looking for a Pilates Reformer Instructor. Job Summary (Essential Functions) Pilates instructor teaches and coaches groups or individuals in the fitness program referred to as Pilates. Instructor helps students use Pilates to promote overall health, improve muscle tone and strength, and achieve better posture. Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations Instruct prepared group exercise classes to members with the intention of promoting health, physical fitness, and attainment of client goals. Maintain a nationally recognized Pilates Reformer certification. Responsible for recording attendance for each class taught. Responsible for attending mandatory Staff Meetings. Responsible for properly storing all exercise equipment and maintain the cleanliness and safety of the group fitness facility. Performs other related duties as directed and assigned. Instructing clients (up to 12 clients per class) using proper form and safe methods on a variety of equipment including, but not limited to, Reformer, Springboard, Exo-Chair, hand weights, etc. to ensure a safe, yet creative experience Required Qualifications A nationally recognized certification in Pilates Minimum 2 years of class instruction experience. Able to work with others as part of a team. Able to communicate and motivate effectively. Preferred Qualifications Certified in CPR/AED/First Aid; must be achieved within 60 days of employment. Reports To: Head Group Fitness Instructor Classification: Non-exempt D.O.E.
