If youíre an MMJ who knows how to aggressively break and cover compelling news stories that our viewers care about Ė we want you on our team! The ideal candidate demonstrates solid news judgment and storytelling abilities, with a passion for delivering original, imaginative content every day. You will be expected to produce daily content on a variety of platforms including, live TV, internet, social networking sites and mobile. Responsibilities -Identifying the dayís most important stories and sourcing materials relevant to your audience -Researching, writing and editing daily content for television and web platforms -Working with management and staff to generate stories and content -Meeting daily deadlines in a fast-paced environment -Write, shoot, edit and present compelling content both on-air and online. -Experience with live shots and breaking news coverage - mandatory. -Ability to operate TVU and/or Dejero preferred. -Social media and web skills essential. -Candidates should also exhibit a good work ethic, strong people skills. -Ability to be a team player and must maintain a professional attitude at all times. -At least two years of experience in a TV newsroom. -College degree in broadcast journalism or a related field is preferred. -Experience with ENPS or non-linear editing software is a big plus. -Must possess and maintain a valid driverís license in good standing. -Must have a reliable source of transportation and be flexible on hours. -This is a full time position offering competitive salaries with a competitive benefit package that includes medical/dental/vision plans as well as a 401k plan Qualifications -Ability to shoot and edit video with knowledge of electronic news gathering & non-linear editing -Bachelorís degree in broadcast journalism or a similar degree -Highly developed public speaking and interpersonal skills -Essential 3 years professional experience -Extensive experience in commercial TV news -Professional, consistent on-air appearance -Advanced ability in critical thinking -Understands social media and the importance of engaging viewers -Quick and effective decision-making skills -Comfortable with live ad-libbing -Ability to perform under various degrees of pressure and ability to switch gear quickly Additional Info Gray Television provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or genetics.
