The position requires proactive management of all content within the newscast: copy, video, graphics, reporter stories and production elements. The News Producer contributes heavily to a team process; offers story ideas,process improvement ideas and creative alternatives on a daily basis. The work performed is for all media platforms and initiatives, including on-air, website, app and social media. 65% Creates and executes compelling,informative and accurate newscast that meet ratings/research goals. 25% Delivers web and other digital content on a daily basis. 5% Collaborates with and mentors associate producers,reporters,editors and photographers. 5% Participates in special projects or contributes to other newscast as assigned by news manager. Requirements: Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must have excellent news judgment and organizational skills.Thorough knowledge of news gathering equipment and sources.Knowledge of Nashville DMA helpful. Must have in-depth knowledge of current events. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multi- task and maintain calm and focus in a hectic and fast paced environment. Ability to work under the pressure of tight deadlines and last minute changes. Ability to work well with diverse groups of individuals.
