Fox 17 News is seeking an aggressive, energetic, and creative full-time Assignment Editor. The successful candidate will have a take charge attitude when it comes to breaking news. We are looking for an assignment editor who finds distinctive enterprise stories and oversees news coverage that sets us apart. Vacancy Type: Full Time Date Posted: 1/28/2019 Closing Date: 2/28/2019 City: Nashville State: Tennessee URL: http://www.fox17.com Experience: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Gathering news affecting the community Preparing story items for presentation in the newscasts Assisting in the efficient operation of the assignment desk Requirements: Required skills and qualifications include, but are not limited to: A minimum of one (1) year of assignment desk experience Commitment to journalistic standards of ethics and accuracy Must be able to foster and maintain professional working relationships with news makers Must have excellent communication skills Basic computer knowledge/word processing skills General knowledge and interest in local, national, and world news The ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines Proficiency with Facebook, Twitter, and emerging social media A Bachelor’s degree with a major in journalism is preferred This position is full-time and will require working a flexible schedule that includes nights and holidays.
