The Broadcast / Information Technologies Engineer will be an integral part of the Technology Department. The position combines the broadcast engineering and IT skills needed in a modern television studio. We maintain the broadcast plant along with supporting each department in their day-to-day operations. A typical day can be the repair of studio equipment, helping an end-user with an email issue, transmitter checks at a remote site and helping the IT manager configure a LAN. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: -Installation, maintenance and repair of all broadcast and computer systems within the television station -End-user desktop support and proficiency with Windows OS, various television systems software and networking -Broadcast UHF and microwave transmitter maintenance, operation and repair -Helping the Chief Engineer keep the station in compliance with the FCC rules -Building maintenance Requirements: A qualified candidate must be a self-starter, team player with excellent communication and people skills and can hit the ground running in this high definition television station. Due to the wide range of projects encountered, mechanical aptitude and a technical mind are a must along with electronics education or military electronics training. RF experience with broadcast transmitters is a plus along with the ability to assume occasional operation of SNG/ENG trucks for remote TV broadcasting of news or community events. Live truck training will be provided. Candidate must have a valid driver’s license; ability to lift 50 lbs; ability to climb ladders and work on elevated surfaces. This is an on-call position with day-time work hours. Candidate must be able to work flexible hours depending on the project. A company cell phone will be provided.
