Digital Marketing Manager Primary Purpose The Digital Marketing Manager is responsible for guiding social media strategy and providing hands on implementation and best practices to promote the brand and its content across multiple social platforms to increase brand awareness, consumer reach and engagement. Key Activities Work with the Creative Service Director to define the overall social media strategy and provide tactical support, analytics, competitive research and platform priorities to deliver on business objectives Create and update a social media playbook outlining post cadence, post type (video, image, text) and content best practices for prioritized social channels Develop a consistent voice in social media that engages our audience and aligns with our brand Create text, image and embedded video content for posting on social platforms in coordination with the content marketing team and editors Champion a culture of audience engagement and community building Develop an internal process to ensure prompt response to customer inquiries and relevant comments on social channels Collaborate with marketing and creative to produce social promotional assets Lead internal brainstorming of social concepts, tactics and campaigns Identify and conduct tests to determine ways to optimize the brand social experience Skills Education & Experience/Certifications Bachelor's’ degree preferred, preferably in marketing, journalism, public relations, communications or similar fields Minimum 3+ years of experience in social media strategy, channel management and content production Proven success in building social communities Experience driving social strategy within a news/information environment preferred Skills & Abilities Strong understanding of how audiences behave on social and how to influence them and be relevant Solid craft skills in copywriting, content creation, research and insights, creative ideation and presentation An eye for great social design including video and image treatments Ability to handle a wide variety of tasks and assignments in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment Knowledge of the capabilities and best practices of all key social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, Tumblr, Snapchat, Periscope) Big picture thinking plus relentless attention to detail Passion for pop culture, news and what’s trending online Experience with social media management tools such as Hootsuite, Buffer, SocialFlow, etc. Familiarity with social media analytics with emphasis on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube Work Environment Standard office environment Some weekend, holiday and after-hours work may be required aligned to coverage of significant social media occasions (e.g. entertainment awards show, political debates, etc.) A moderate amount of travel may be required (10%) Internal candidates please apply through WorkLife.
