Category: News Position/Title: Anchor/Reporter Details: WSMV a Meredith Corporation TV is looking for a News Anchor/reporter who is great at both covering news - and uncovering news - for a shop that truly values enterprise reporting. Your reel should demonstrate that you are journalistically and creatively ambitious, have superior writing and live skills, and are great at explaining complicated stories clearly and experienced as a fill in on the anchor desk. You'll work with a large staff of talented photojournalists and a large number of major-market tools to make those stories shine. The News Anchor/Reporter develops newscasts which will attract the largest available audience to the station’s newscasts. This position works with Producer to create the newscast. The News Anchor/Reporter covers news in the field, writes stories and edits and/or rewrites copy when needed. The work performed is for all media platforms and initiatives, including on-air, website, app and social media. 55% Anchors newscasts. Covers news stories. Writes and edits news copy. Edits video on Avid computer system. 20% Works with Producer to create newscasts, teasers and promos. 15% Works with News Director, Managing Editor and Producers to plan and prepare for special event coverage. 10% Conducts interviews and makes personal appearances on behalf of the station. Must be comfortable in an intense, deadline-driven environment. We're looking for a true team player who is very comfortable serving multiple newscasts and multiple digital platforms at the same time. Ability to blend words and video into interesting and informative television news stories.Must be a skilled communicator with ability to connect with a diverse audience.Ability to assimilate information quickly. Ability to compile and summarize information into a clear, concise and understandable presentation. Ability to conduct meaningful and interesting interviews.
