Job Title Reporter Job Description I. Job Summary | Major goals and objectives. Reporter at Arizona’s Family CBS 5 & 3 TV (Meredith Corp.) General reporting assignments from Executive Producers and Assignment Desk. Provide story narration on or off camera. Work performed is for all media platforms and initiatives, including for example: on-air, web, digital and social media. II. Essential Job Functions Weight % Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results 50% Duties would include, but not limited to, reporting both in the studio and in the field and the possibility to fill-in anchor work. Accept general reporting assignments from Executive Producers and Assignment Desk. Provide story narration on or off camera. Write or rewrite news stories provided by wire services or similar outside sources. Provide content for our multiple digital platforms and engage viewers through social media. Contribute initiative concepts and ideas on a regular basis. 40% Participate as needed on in-studio interviews. Develop and maintain contact with news sources. Propose ideas for hard news stories, follow-ups, features and mini documentaries. 10% Represent the station at various community events. Provide general assistance in the preparation of station newscasts. Other duties as assigned. 100% III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered. Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, broadcasting, or equivalent work experience Experience: Two years general on air-news reporting experience. Journalistic skills editorial judgment with knowledge of editing and photography skills, or equivalent work experience. Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to work under pressure, adapt to change, meet deadlines, work well as a team and independently.
