We are looking for "story tellers." The multimedia journalist will produce, shoot, write and edit stories for several shows. Primary emphasis (approximately 75% of your time), will be on “The High School Sports Insider,” an Emmy Award winning magazine format program that runs 40 weeks a year. Now in its 20th season, HSSI is telecast weekly on various platforms. This position requires strong reporting, photojournalism and editing skills. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Candidate will research, shoot, write and edit compelling stories for television and multiple platforms. Story packages run 2:00 to 3:00 in length. Nature of work requires contact with school administrators, athletic directors and high school athletes. The ability to develop and nurture sources and build relationships which will result in successful stories is a must. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Self motivated, self directed, individual with the ability to research and pitch story ideas, work in a team environment. Strong writing, camera, editing, web and social media skills. Experience with P2 Format, Final Cut Pro or Avid is a plus. A sense of urgency, high energy and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and perform multiple tasks simultaneously. Must be flexible, organized and have the ability to schedule the many facets that are required to produce a story. Flexible in shift starting times and work locations. Must be able to carry and handle various types of equipment. Conduct self in a positive, professional and courteous manner at all times with clients and coworkers. Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism or relevant major required. Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
