WDAY, the #1 News station in Fargo, North Dakota is looking for a First News Producer to work in our multi-platform newsroom. This is a morning newscast that airs from 5:00am to 7:00am Monday thru Friday, some Saturdays could be required. As a producer, you will be responsible for producing our award winning newscasts including: writing scripts, editing copy, ordering graphics to fit stories, and coordinating live shots with directors. A college degree in journalism or a related field is required. The successful candidate will have exceptional writing, communication and organizational skills. We produce more than 30 hours of local news each week. We have a staff of over 35 journalists working in news, weather and sports. Our newsroom includes spacious work areas for each employee, a makeup room, meeting spaces and a hangout area complete with couches and televisions. WDAY has helped launch the careers of many news professionals around the country. We have alumni in many of the county’s top markets including Minneapolis, Denver, Phoenix, Detroit, Chicago, Tampa Bay, Albuquerque, and Las Vegas. Fargo is the largest city in North Dakota and borders Moorhead, Minnesota. The metro population is over 240,000, including the cities of Fargo and West Fargo in North Dakota and Moorhead and Dilworth in Minnesota. Fargo has a vibrant downtown with many activities and events geared towards young professionals. The community hosts many major concerts, sporting, and community events throughout the year.
