Graphic Artist (Regular, Full-Time) The Graphic Artist, under the supervision of the VP or Creative Services, designs, creates and manages all local electronic and print art projects and files. Working in conjunction with the FOX Graphics Hub in Tampa, the WJBK graphic artist develops animations, NEWS elements, digital/social art and a wide-ranging selection of promotion/programming elements. The Graphic Artist provides animations (3d & 2d), still graphics and text treatments to producers in Creative Services, News, Sales, Web and for social media applications. In addition, print design support is provided to both the Executive and Finance departments. This position works in several software design applications including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Illustrator, Cinema 4d and other Fox proprietary art applications. Proficiency in all is required. In addition to design work, the Graphic Artist is routinely required to participate in team-based creative meetings. These meetings are often the starting point for high-profile Station and News branding projects. As a member of the creative team, the Graphic Artist is tasked with contributing ideas and treatments that will be discussed amongst the group and ultimately be produced as on-air advertising. Candidate should possess very strong design, animation and graphical layout skills. Solid production, promotion and post-production knowledge, plus extensive hands-on experience with ADOBE creative applications. Frequently, the Fox 2 News department will require short deadline electronic design projects. As such, superior time-management and organizational skills are necessary as is a proactive team-oriented demeanor. Bachelor's degree (or equivalent broadcast experience) and 5+ years experience working in a TV broadcast (or similar) Creative department or agency-based design/post facility is required.
