WKYC, a TEGNA Media company, is seeking a Research Manager responsible for managing, analyzing and communicating Television and Digital audience data for WKYC’s internal stakeholders and external clients.
The ideal candidate will have an understanding of audience measurement for media (i.e., TV ratings and audience data per Nielsen and digital media per Google Analytics), is detail-oriented and passionate about “story telling” with data.
Other research, including Media Monitors and Scarborough, and software programs such as NLTV, Prime Lingo and Wide Orbit Media Sales are used regularly in this role. Due to the nature of the business and position, the ability to learn new software and new research tools is a must. Mastery of PowerPoint, Excel and other MS Office tools is a pre-requisite.
This person should be able to analyze data gathered from a variety of sources and provide insights helpful to the internal news, marketing and revenue teams as well as external clients. Audience profiles, consumer behavior, ad hoc reports and regular reporting of performance metrics are all core to the position.
Due to the various constituencies that rely upon the position, effective communication skills are critical and include highly visual graphics, written summaries and oral presentations.
