WGN-TV is looking for an aggressive journalist for the position of Executive Producer The successful candidate will be responsible for overall content, production, planning and direction of our 3-hour Evening News broadcast and digital initiatives. The Executive Producer will have direct authority over producers, writers, and reporters for WGN-TV newscasts, online and social media.The Executive Producer will be a creative, imaginative leader, who insures the integrity of WGN content consistent with our professional journalistic standards. The successful candidate must have strong news judgment, work with the assignment desk to plan daily stories and content, and collaborate with the digital team on daily coverage. Other duties include assisting the News Director in strategic decisions, leading and planning special projects, and assisting in the on-going evaluation of personnel and broadcast standards. The position requires at least 5 years of experience as a news broadcast producer or related news experience; the ability to function under extreme deadline pressure; the ability to encourage and nurture the creativity of others; and the capacity to offer constructive help to improve.
