Position/Title: On-air Promotions Manager Details: WSMV, a Meredith station is seeking to an On-Air Promotion Manager for News 4 Nashville. This role will manage the promotion department staff in the day to day production of the station’s on-air promos and social media with a concentration on news image, weather, franchise, TSR promos and event spots. On-Air Promotion Manager will also work with news managers and Meredith leadership to assist with station strategy for the daily topical process and production of POP promos and will manage the log strategy. This position will also oversee local community and synergistic partnerships and local events and manage staff and news talent in the execution of event appearances. Must have a solid writing background be an exceptional leader with a proven skill set for developing innovative promotional strategies in a new era of marketing local news. Essential Functions 40% Develops and supervises local promos including image, sweep, topical and all other promotional on-air, on the web and utilized in any outside media. 20% Works directly with the Creative Services and News Directors as well as outside consultants on station brand/image, projects/campaigns and research. 20% Interfaces with other station departments and outside organizations to coordinate and execute station wide campaigns/events. 10% Manages and motivates staff of Promotions Producers, assists in the selection of Promotion Producers. 10% Coordinate promotional contests; legal documentation regarding contest rules and forms, prizes and manages fulfillment. Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Excellent writing skills. Solid editing background: Avid, Final Cut, Adobe Suite. Strong managerial skills, including teambuilding, communications, budgeting and administration.
