The Graphic Artist will design and build graphics for nightly newscasts. Key skills for digital producers include video editing, web design, and communication skills, along with artistic talent, creativity.
Develop creative & editorial design of daily news graphics with Adobe Creative Suite in a Chyron Lyric/CAMIO integrated environment, as well as assisting with motion design projects working both collaboratively and independently under the Director of Creative Services, Promotion Production and Sales staff to visualize and execute concepts for all station projects. This position also interacts with Newscast Management, Producers and Directors to successfully create designs to help the storytelling process. Other responsibilities may include studio support, videography, camera operation and microwave & satellite receive operations.
Candidate will be required to work non-traditional, flexible hours including weekends and holidays as well as in public safety, local emergency, and breaking news situations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Design and build graphics for nightly newscasts. Includes building full screen monitor graphics, over the shoulder graphics, maps, mugshots and information graphics. Most all work is template driven via photoshop
Work with newscast producers to execute all graphics needed for daily newscasts and special productions
Conceptualize, design and create graphics and animations for sales, promotion and web as designed
Other job duties will include operation of studio cameras, audio consoles, teleprompter and some basic news editing on Adobe Premiere Pro platform
Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator, Premiere Pro. Ross Xpression Dual channel graphics system.
Should have hands-on experience working in a live production environment.
Operation of Ross Xpression or Chyron graphics system is and integration of ENPS newsroom solutions software is recommended.
Clear communicator with ability to communicate seamlessly with newscast director and flexibility to work in rapidly changing situations.
The candidate should have experience with technical television news production, graphics design and or electronic media.
Experience working in a newsroom environment will be considered.
Basic Computer Troubleshooting skills is recommended.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Ability to routinely lift, carry and move equipment in excess of 40 lbs
High stress office environment with deadline pressures
Position will require day-to-day multi-tasking, as well as managing multiple projects simultaneously with frequent change in direction and priority
Must be able to work independently or as part of a team
Occasional weekends, evenings, and holiday shifts will be required
Must maintain a valid driver’s license and good driving record as some travel may be required for production meetings with advertisers of the station
