Job Title Summer Associate Digital News Job Description I. Job Summary | Major goals and objectives. KPHO CBS 5 and KTVK 3TV (Arizona’s Family) are owned and operated by the Meredith Local Media Group. Meredith’s Local Media Group includes 17 television stations reaching more than 10 percent of U.S. households. Meredith’s stations produce approximately 745 hours of local news and entertainment content each week and operate leading local digital destinations. The Summer Associate Program at Arizona’s Family is designed to teach prospective digital media/reporter/producer/assignment editor associates what it takes to put a news story or production on the air. For 10 weeks (6/1/21-8/10/21) the associate will work in a large market duopoly newsroom or production area. This is a structured, full-time (40 hours a week), temporary, and paid internship at $15/hr. Work performed is for all media platforms and initiatives, including for example: on-air, web, digital and social media. Essential Job Functions Weight % Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results 50% Associates gain valuable knowledge with on-the-job training while working in a large market duopoly newsroom or production set. 50% Associates will work with Digital Media, Assignment Editors and Producers. Assignments include but are not limited to answering phones, gathering data on developing stories, logging content, and developing digital only content. Other duties will be assigned as needed. 100% III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered. Education: Must be a current, full-time junior, senior or graduate level student at an accredited journalism college or university at the time of application, or a 2020 college graduate. Experience: Related coursework and a prior media related internship or experience required.
