Temp Associate Producer
I. Job Summary | Major goals and objectives.
The Temp Associate Producer at Arizona’s Family CBS 5 & 3 TV (Meredith Corp.) provides support to Producers with all phases of project from pre-production to post-production. This includes but is not limited to scripting, logging video, writing for newscast, and news briefs, live remotes and non-scheduled news events, wire newscasts, maintain daily shoot schedule. Will provide day to day assistance to pre-production and administrative needs. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Work performed is for all media platforms and initiatives, including for example: on-air, web, digital and social media.
II. Essential Job Functions
Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results
Supports Producers by coordinating day to day pre-productions tasks. Develops and communicates shoot schedules and call sheets.
Conducts research from reputable sources. Will bring creative story ideas to the editorial meetings. Print and collate daily scripts and distribute to producers and directors.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.
Completion of H.S Diploma, or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, or a related field Preferred.
Minimum one year of newsroom experience working in production with strong broadcast writing skills, or equivalent work experience.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent computer and web research skills.
Must be able to work in a team-oriented environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure while meeting show deadlines.
Must be able to work flexible schedule.
Ability to make quick decisions and multi-task and manage multiple projects and assignments simultaneously.
Good phone skills.
