WRAL is looking for a curious, tenacious, experienced investigative reporter to join our WRAL Investigates team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing sources, exposing wrongdoing, holding the powerful accountable and producing in depth reports that bring about change. Experience with public records requests, data journalism and enterprise storytelling are all essential. You should be able to manage both long- and short-term assignments and work collaboratively with our investigative producer and photojournalist. An energetic, creative and ambitious reporter will thrive in this role, which on any given day could require pitching timely, relevant, impactful stories for sweeps or pivoting to uncover exclusive details on the big story of the day. Requirements include at least five years of previous reporting experience, preferably with two or more years investigative reporting experience, as well as a four-year college degree.
