WGN is seeking a dynamic Executive Producer to lead our editorial team with a hybrid focus — delivering compelling, high-impact news content for television while driving forward-thinking strategies across social and digital platforms. Key Responsibilities -Lead Daily Broadcasts: Oversee the editorial direction, production quality, and execution of daily newscasts, ensuring journalistic integrity and audience relevance. -Drive Cross-Platform Strategy: Collaborate with digital and social teams to extend broadcast content across platforms, optimizing for reach, engagement, and impact. -Coach and Develop Talent: Provide consistent feedback, mentorship, and performance management for producers, reporters, and writers to elevate team performance. -Innovate Content Delivery: Champion new formats, technologies, and storytelling approaches that resonate with evolving viewer habits. -Leverage Analytics & Ratings: Interpret audience data, ratings, and impressions to inform editorial decisions and refine content strategy across platforms. -Collaborate Across Departments: Work closely with assignment desk, marketing, and production teams to align coverage with strategic goals. -Lead Special Projects: Spearhead high-profile coverage, special reports, and community initiatives that reflect our brand and values. Qualifications -Minimum 5 years of experience in live news production across broadcast and digital platforms. -Required: Line producing experience. -Demonstrated leadership in managing editorial teams and coaching performance. -Strong editorial judgment with the ability to make decisive calls under pressure. -Familiarity with streaming programming and related technologies, a plus. -In-depth knowledge of social media platforms, audience analytics, and digital content strategy. -Flexible schedule, including availability for weekend shifts as needed. -Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills. -Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field; Proficiency in ENPS. #LI-Onsite Salary Range:100K to 130K Annualized - commensurate with applicant's experience and skill level Benefits: Our comprehensive benefits package includes, but not limited to, medical (with multiple plan options), dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, a 401(k) with company matching contributions, Paid Parental leave, life insurance and more.
