REQUISITION ID req1886 LOCATION Miami, FL BUSINESS UNIT Network JOB DESCRIPTION Position Summary: The Digital Media Engineer II is responsible for but not limited to the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of computer, networking, editing, graphics, and production equipment at Univision’s Networks Miami Campus. Responsibilities: •Resolve support requests and perform infrastructure and systems maintenance. •Install, configure, upgrade, maintain, troubleshoot, and support hardware, software, and peripherals on workstations, servers, and virtual machines. •Troubleshoot network and remote access connectivity problems. •Help to develop and implement SOP’s and training documents pertaining to the various operations of computer systems including but not limited to video editing systems, graphics design workstations, video production workflows, project archiving, network related procedures, etc. •Provide operational training to end-users, as required. •Assist with documenting, maintaining and creating back-ups of systems configuration. •Provide training to other engineering team members, as well as maintaining proficiency in all supported systems. •Provide input on projects as they relate to systems design, configuration, and equipment and software purchases. •Maintain up-to-date equipment and software inventory (CMDB) including current and expired software, including tracking software licenses of applications, fonts and plug-ins. •Track all issues in ServiceNow, giving details about tasks performed, solutions to problems solved, and hand off any open items as appropriate with the following shifts. •Perform daily and weekly checks following established procedures and review any open tasks and follow up any issues and tasks that were not able to be completed by the previous shift. •Univision is a 24x7 media company. Work periods include day, night, weekend and holiday rotations. Ability to work during inclement weather including Hurricanes. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Experience and Qualifications: •Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Science, or related physical sciences. •Experience with IT Service Management and ITIL best practices, including working knowledge of ServiceNow. •Minimum five plus years of module level repair and system configuration experience. •Ability to troubleshoot Mac and PC software and networking problems, including problems with the operating systems (Mac OS X Client and Server, Windows Client OS (XP/7/10), Windows Server OS (2008/2012/2016) Linux (RedHat/CentOS), browsers, applications, plugins, drivers, etc. •Ability to troubleshoot Mac and PC hardware problems, including problems with workstations, servers, drives, cards, printers, scanners, and other peripherals. •Proficiency in networking technologies, protocols, and security best practices.. •Experience with Avid Interplay Production Asset Management with ISIS or Nexis Storage, Media Composer, and Pro Tools systems required. Avid ACSR Certification required. •Experience with a majority of the following: Telestream Vantage, VizRT Broadcast and MAM, Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects), Autodesk Maya and Entertainment Creation Suite, Maxon Cinema4D, Network Rendering tools (Octane Render, Arnold Renderer, Maxwell Render), EVS Platform, and Isilon. •Familiarity with Enterprise Class archive systems, specifically Front Porch Digital and Spectra Logic a plus. •Familiarity with systems management tools (such as SolarWinds)), remote control software (such as remote desktop and VNC), and software distribution tools (such as FileWave and KACE). •In depth understanding of digital audio and video signals, compression methodologies, codecs and digital media standards. •Participation in some level of vendor or manufacturer training (AVID, EVS, VIZRT, Telestream, etc.) •Self-organized with significant attention to detail and procedures. •Experience supporting end users, including all levels of management with exceptional customer service. •Ability to follow through on support requests in a timely manner, escalating to other members of the team or manufacturer support when appropriate. •Ability to prioritize and address multiple tasks and projects in a dynamic work environment. •Ability to work independently and with other members of a team. •Demonstrated significant and strong interpersonal and written communications skills. •Ability to lift heavy equipment as needed (up to 50 lbs.). •Proficient English Oral and Written Communication. Multilingual capabilities in Spanish would be beneficial.
